Stereotypes exist because they are based on something real and the viewer is influenced from seeing a stereotyped image of a stereotyped culture. Is there a way to create or modify the perception society has of a certain social group? Where is the limit of the stereotype? How can gay community be not stereotyped if nothing is done to change the perception of the public?
The result of hiding an analogue compact camera and concealing one’s presence in a “darkroom” is the portrait of an ordinary Saturday night club in London. Describing something strong and raw in a pictorial and almost abstract way, might be the right way to represent the dichotomy of a movement more and more under the spotlight.
